Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Corey Hunt. I am a retired Navy Senior Chief. Retiring after 23 years, I have served this country all over the world. From being a helicopter rescue swimmer to working at the Navy Manpower Analysis Center in Tennessee, personal awards include the US Navy Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Air Medal among others completing nine combat deployments overseas. In 1987, I graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School and was immediately recruited into the Navy. Since then, I have earned a master’s degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas, a master’s degree in instructional design and technology from Emporia University, and a bachelor’s degree in management from Park University. In addition, I have graduated from seven United States Navy schools and I am a certified U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist.
My job as a Senior Chief and my job now is to manage change and improve systems while providing leadership and communication along the way. After retiring, I felt a calling to serve, and served as your Lenexa Ward Three Councilmember from 2017-2021. I am honored to now tell you that I have filed as a candidate for Ward III of the Lenexa City Council so that I may once again serve my local community in new and effective ways. Active engagement from the community is something I would like to see more of and with your help, we can make it happen. I hope that I can count on your vote on November 4th so that I may serve your interests on the City Council of Lenexa.

TRUST BUT VERIFY
Citizens of Lenexa should trust their locally elected government leaders, but it is still important to verify and hold them accountable for the decisions they make. We must move the city forward thoughtfully and with a purpose.
